A Harare-bound Hungwe Coaches bus overturned at a roundabout near Fairmile Hotel in Gweru this Wednesday morning claiming at least six lives, leaving several others injured.
The Passenger Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) has since extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved families while commending the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Gweru and emergency services for their prompt action in coordinating rescue efforts.

The fatal crash has reignited concerns over road safety and vehicle maintenance standards in Zimbabwe. PAZ emphasised the importance of regular vehicle inspections and strict compliance with traffic laws to prevent such tragedies.
The association has advised drivers to be cautious and put the safety of others first at all times.
“PAZ urges all road users to exercise caution and prioritise safety,” read the statement.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Police are expected to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the crash in the coming days.
