Following a National Shutdown pronounced by war veteran Blessed Geza for the 22nd and 23rd of April, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has assured the public of maximum security during all socio-economic activities scheduled for that period.
The recent statement indicates that sufficient police officers have been deployed across the country, including Central Business Districts, residential areas, industrial zones, and other frequently visited locations, to maintain law and order.

According to the ZRP, this deployment aims to ensure that the public can freely participate in economic activities without fear of intimidation, threats, or harassment on the specified dates.

Furthermore, the police have stated their intention to arrest anyone who obstructs the smooth flow of traffic and the movement of the public.
“In this regard, the Police will arrest anyone who interferes with the smooth flow of traffic and movement of the public.” Reads the statement.
The ZRP has issued a strong warning against the misuse of social media platforms, urging the public to disregard any social media postings intended to incite chaos and alarm within the country and has also guaranteed the safety and security of all local and foreign exhibitors attending the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibition forum.
“The public is warned against abusing social media and is urged to totally disregard social media postings meant to cause chaos and alarm in the country.
All local and foreign exhibitors attending the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibition forum are assured of their security and safety.”Reads the statement.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterated its commitment to executing its constitutional mandate without fear or favor.
