Former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Governor Gideon Gono’s advisor Dr Munyaradzi Kereke has made a police report against the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC), National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Harare Municipal Medical Aid Society (HMMAS) Board Chair Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gailord Chidindi, Mayor of Harare Jacob Mafume and SBS Consultants.
The formal police report dated 20 March 2025 was made by Kereke at the Police General Headquarters (PGHQ) in Harare.
TechMag TV is in possession of the former Zanu PF Bikita West legislator police report and forensic evidence including the Agreement of Sale which he attached to the police report which he made claiming he has been “falsely accused of defrauding HMMAS of USD1 000 000.00 for the sale of a house in Ruwa.”
In his police report, Dr Kereke argues it is a tired, baseless and unfounded narrative which in his own words, “is what all the HMMAS people and the Mayor of Harare are parroting, which narrative is full of falsehoods.”
Kereke gives his side of the story adding that, “The truth of the matter is that (he) Dr Kereke sold a hospital as a going concern, meaning, the sale was for a fully fledged hospital building (not a house), hospital equipment and machinery, operating licenses, medical stocks, goodwill and everything else that comes with an operational hospital. The purchase price was a mutually agreed price by both Dr Kereke and HMMAS Board. An agreement of sale was drawn and signed by all parties freely and voluntarily. On behalf of HMMAS, the said Agreement was signed by HMMAS CEO, Gailord Chidindi.”
Further investigations by TechMag Tv reveal that only in 2023, HMMAS engaged external auditors, SBS Consultants, to conduct a forensic audit who discovered that the firm was not registered with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board, which is a legal requirement yet this was concealed.
TechMag Tv investigations unearthed one of the directors of SBS Consultants as reportedly Chidindi’s cousin, raising concerns about a conflict of interest, nepotism and corruption by HMMAS CEO against Kereke now a mere victim of this saga.
More investigations also reveal Chidindi was given US$190,000 in 2020 to purchase 200 coffins in South Africa, yet only 25 coffins were delivered, raising eyebrows on how finances were used.
Contacted for comment the NPA promised to get back to this reporter once furnished with the details whilst ZACC and the ZRP had not responded by time of publishing.Harare City Council referred questions to their spokesperson Stanley Gama while HMMAS and SBS Consultants were not reachable during the time of writing.
