Mnangagwa Fires Sithembiso Nyoni

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has removed Sithembiso Gile Gladys Nyoni from her position as Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife.

According to a press statement released recently, the president cites constitutional provisions as the basis for the removal, referencing Section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), read with Section 108, subsection (1), paragraph (a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

 

“His Excellency the President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has, in terms of section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 108, subsection (1), paragraph (a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Honourable Sithembiso Gile Gladys Nyoni from the position of Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife with immediate effect,”

 

Nyoni has been involved in several key initiatives related to environmental protection and climate change.
