Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road Rehabilitation Works Begin – Mhona

Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road rehabilitation project has now commenced Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister, Hon. Felix T. Mhona has said.

In a statement, Minister Mhona revealed that the government has mobilized resources to undertake the rehabilitation of the critical highway, which connects Zimbabwe’s southern border with its western tourist resorts.

The rehabilitation project, which is expected to be completed within the next 36 months, aims to improve the road’s surface and drainage systems, as well as upgrade its bridges and culverts.

According to Minister Mhona, the project will be undertaken through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, which will see the government partnering with private investors to finance and implement the project.

“We are committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation network that supports our economic development goals,” said Mhona.

“The rehabilitation of the Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road is a key priority for our government, and we are pleased to see that work has finally commenced.”

Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road is a critical transportation artery that connects Zimbabwe’s southern border with its western tourist resorts, including the Victoria Falls. The road also provides a vital link between Zimbabwe and its neighboring countries, including South Africa and Botswana.

The rehabilitation of the road is expected to improve the safety and efficiency of transportation along this critical route, and support the growth of Zimbabwe’s tourism and trade sectors.
