Kwekwe Man Sentenced to Community Service for Assault Following Snooker Dispute

A 29-year-old man, Admire Chisale, has been sentenced to 140 hours of community service after being convicted of assault for a violent altercation that occurred at a local bar on New Year’s Day.

The incident, which took place at Sunganai Bar in Mbizo 5 Shopping Centre, Kwekwe, involved Chisale and a 40-year-old man, Tichaona Marufu.

The two were reportedly playing snooker when an argument broke out, escalating into physical violence.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe Chisale assaulted Marufu by slapping him repeatedly, biting him on the forehead, and biting his right middle finger.

Marufu sustained visible bite marks but did not seek medical attention.

Chisale was subsequently arrested and brought before the court, where he was found guilty of assault.

He was sentenced to 140 hours of community service at a local government office.
