Preparations for Zimbabwe’s 45th Independence Day celebrations are underway, with the government reporting significant progress.
According to Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Honourable Daniel Garwe, construction of legacy projects at the main arena in Gokwe North is in full swing.
The government has also drilled 110 boreholes in Gokwe North and South districts to ensure a steady supply of clean water,said Garwe.
The celebrations, slated for April 18, 2025, will be held at the Nembudziya Growth Point Open Ground Venue in Gokwe North, under the theme “Zim @45: Devolve and Develop Together towards Vision 2030”. The event is expected to draw 60,000 people from across the country.
A children’s party, hosted by the First Family, will kick off the celebrations on April 17, with 3,050 child delegates expected to attend. Other highlights include a torch relay, lighting of the Independence Flame, and a football match between Simba Bhors and FC Platinum.
