Applications for the Higherlife Foundation’s Joshua Nkomo Scholarship are now open, providing academically gifted students in Zimbabwe and other African countries an opportunity to pursue university education. The scholarship, which runs from March 2 to March 31, focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, while also welcoming students from other disciplines.
The announcement was made by Strive Masiyiwa, the founder and executive chairman of Higherlife Foundation, who emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting bright students in engineering, medicine, and entrepreneurship. Masiyiwa described the initiative as one of the most meaningful contributions he and his wife have made.
The Joshua Nkomo Scholarship, named after Zimbabwean nationalist leader Joshua Nkomo, has for years supported top-performing students, offering them financial aid and mentorship. Eligible candidates include Zimbabwean students as well as non-Zimbabwean applicants from other African countries.
