FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has expressed his disappointment with the state of Wadzanai Stadium’s pitch, following his team’s goalless draw against Simba Bhora last Saturday.
Mapeza, who is used to the top-notch conditions of his home stadium, Mandava Stadium, was unhappy with the pitch’s uncut grass, which made it difficult for players to control the ball.
“The pitch was not in good condition,” Mapeza said. “The grass was too long, and it made it difficult for the players to move the ball around.”
Mapeza also raised concerns about the limited space allocated to coaches during matches. “The technical area is too small,” he said. “It’s difficult to communicate with your players when you’re cramped in a small space.”
The match between Simba Bhora and FC Platinum ended in a goalless draw, with players from both teams struggling to cope with the challenging pitch conditions.
Mapeza’s comments have sparked a debate about the state of football infrastructure in Zimbabwe, with many calling for improvements to be made to stadiums and pitches around the country.
“He is irritating always complaining,”said Tendesai Madziwa.
