Otaku Konnect to Host Zimbabwe’s First Gaming Convention

Otaku Konnect is set to host Zimbabwe’s first-ever gaming convention, Button Bash, on April 19th and 20th, 2025, at Moto Republik in Harare.

Otaku Konnect, a company known for promoting anime culture, is expanding its focus to gaming with this event. The Button Bash promises to be an exciting gathering for gaming enthusiasts. The event will feature two action-packed days of competitive gaming, cosplay competitions, and a variety of activities for gamers of all ages.

Day 1 will focus on competitive gaming with tournaments for popular titles such as Mortal Kombat 1, Tekken 8, Blur, and EAFC25. Day 2 will spotlight a cosplay competition, gaming merchandise, and family friendly activities aimed at building a vibrant gaming community in Zimbabwe.

Otaku Konnect has priced tickets at $3 for Game Day, $8 in advance or $10 at the gate for Fun Day, and a discounted rate of $10 for both days. Additionally, attendees who come in costume will receive a 50% discount on their tickets.

The convention is expected to bring together gamers, developers, and artists, promoting collaboration and growth within Zimbabwe’s gaming industry. Registration for competitive tournaments is available online, with tickets available through Tango and Flippin Tickets.

While some organizations may dispute the claim of this being Zimbabwe’s first gaming convention, Button Bash is set to offer an unforgettable experience for local and international gaming fans alike.
