A National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) goods train derailed near Jangano this morning, just outside Kadoma District.
The eyewitnesses have described a dramatic scene as the train veered off the tracks and plunged into a waterlogged section of the railway.

The cause of the derailment is unknown though initial reports indicate that recent heavy rains may have weakened the ground beneath the tracks.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
Authorities and NRZ officials have launched an on-site assessment to investigate the damage and are working to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
