A 14-year-old Form 2 student was brutally raped by four men in Harare on October 20th, 2024.
One man has been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison, the other three were acquitted.

The victim, (name withheld) left her home after being reprimanded by her mother and was lured by the first accused, a 30-year-old man, under the pretense of offering her accommodation for the night. Upon arrival at his residence, she encountered three other men, aged 30, 34, and 36.
The court heard how the four men threatened the teenager with a knife, assaulted her with a hosepipe, and drugged her with an unknown substance, rendering her unconscious.
They then took turns to sexually assault her.
The following morning, she awoke in the house, suffering from pain and with visible evidence of the assault.
The victim recounted her ordeal to her aunt, leading to a police report and a medical examination.
The first accused was found guilty of rape and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. However, his three accomplices were acquitted at the close of the state’s case.
