The Morgan Tsvangirai Memorial Lecture, initially set for today, February 15, 2025, has been postponed to March 8, 2025, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) made the announcement citing the need to ensure the participation of distinguished speakers and close friends of the late opposition leader.
The new date coincidentally brings the event closer to Tsvangirai’s birthday on March 10, allowing for a more fitting tribute to his legacy. The lecture aims to honor the life and contributions of the former Prime Minister and opposition leader, who passed away on February 14, 2018.
The event will commemorate the life of Tsvangirai’s wife, Susan, who passed away on March 6, 2009. The CCC highlighted her role as a pillar of strength and support in Tsvangirai’s political journey.
The CCC has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and has urged Zimbabweans to come together in celebrating Tsvangirai’s life and legacy. The event will take place in Bulawayo, with further details regarding the venue and program to be announced soon.
