The recent fatal bus accident in Beitbridge, which claimed the lives of 25 people, has shown that the driver did not have a valid route permit and his retest had expired in 2021, investigations revealed.
In an interview with the media, Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Felix Mhona said the responsible authorities will take action to such carnage,emphasizing that wayward driving ,which does not respect the sanctity of life,will not be tolerated
Mhona said this in an effort to promote road safety and reduce accidents.

Meanwhile minister Mhona is urging Zimbabweans to exercise restraint and respect at accident scenes by refraining from recording videos. Instead, he advises waiting for official updates, emphasizing the importance of respecting the deceased and avoiding potential harm.
A fatal head-on collision occurred between an Urban Connect bus and an Auro Transport haulage truck.
The bus, carrying 65 passengers, was traveling from Harare to Beitbridge when it attempted to overtake another vehicle.
The truck, with four occupants on board, was heading in the opposite direction.
