The government has announced that the Cabinet has given the green light for preparations to begin for the 21st February commemorations, which will be held at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
February 21st is a national holiday in Zimbabwe, marking the birthdate of the late President Robert Mugabe.
The day is set aside to pay tribute to his legacy and foster leadership values among the youth, drawing inspiration from the country’s national heroes.
This year’s commemorations are being held under the theme “Empower Youth, Secure the Future”.
In a report presented by Acting Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on State Occasions and National Monuments Hounarable Engineer Garwe said the event will attract a total of 20 000 youths drawn from the country’s nine provinces with the rest of the youth in all the provinces following proceedings in real time at designated vocational Training centres and institutions of Higher Learning.
