Harare Police Seize Counterfeit Goods, Arrest Two

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested two individuals, Selina Nyurwa (33) and Ashley Kasambarara (32), for selling counterfeit products in Harare.

The arrests follow a raid on February 3rd on a foreign-owned company operating at two locations, Bristol Road, Workington, and the corner of Bank Street and Harare Street.
Acting on a tip-off, the Harare Licence Inspectorate discovered a substantial quantity of fake brake fluid and prime bond silicon being sold at the premises.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the operation resulted in the seizure of 593 boxes of counterfeit brake fluid, comprising 16,849 units, and 88 boxes of counterfeit prime bond silicon, totaling 8,800 units.
“Subsequently, the Police acted on the received information leading to the arrest of the suspect’s and recovery of 593 boxes of counterfeit brake fluid comprising 16 849 units and 88 boxes of prime bond and silicon comprising 8 800 units.” Reads the statement.

The ZRP has issued a strong warning against the sale of counterfeit goods, and has urged individuals and businesses to desist from such activities.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police warns individuals and companies against selling counterfeit goods. Members of the public are advised to report such individuals to the Police.” Reads the statement.
