The Harare city mayor Jacob Mafume alleged that he was the only individual amongst a few other councillors pushing for the implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) as other corrupt councillors kept fighting the implementation of system that would expose revenue leakage
This system ensures that there’s accountability and transparency within the public system yet it was met with serious internal resistance.
One questioned feather the mayor admitted that the city of Harare has been “haemorrhaging” for over 5 years with 250 million in fans accounted for due to the absence of an EPR system which would enable expenditures done to be tracked.
On the man’s words they eat at a piece systems absence is deliberate. He conquered that there is a criminal cutter standing in his way of doing right by the people of Harare and pleasing on the delayed installation of an ERP system.

The situation like he chronicled entails that some of these colleagues have been complicit in blocking the installation of an ERP system out of the fear that it was something the executive were not in support of.
When the idea was suggested the mayor of the city of Harare agreed that some executives acted as a barrier to the obtainability of the ERP system.
“Sage system routinely fails, sometimes you go for weeks without being able to record transactions.” said Mafume.
This goes to show the lack of accountability in terms of the movement of large sums of money within the city of Harare Council.
“I have tried everything to get an ERP installed but i end up being the one accused of interference…”, stated mayor Mafume. He went on to add on that most of his colleagues were unable to comprehend the sophisticated system and its significance.
