Zimbabwe has been recognised as the fast growing fisheries and aquaculture sector,director for fisheries and agriculture in the ministry of lands ,agriculture, fisheries ,water and rural development has said.
Addressing a workshop in Kadoma yesterday Milton Tinashe Makumbe shared the results of a national survey on the agriculture sector.
“This recognition shows we are on the right trade said Makumbe.
“Accurate data has been key to our success,” he added.
The department has received outstanding recognition from the food and Agriculture organisation of the United Nations (FAO) under the FISH4ACP countries project during the National Agriculture Sector Survey Results Workshop held in kadoma yesterday.
The event brought together key players in the industry including financial institutions, private sector and government officials to discuss the findings and their implications for the sector
