United African National Council (UANC) president Gwinyai Muzorewa addressed the issue and state of the current Zimbabwean currency ZiG, while addressing journalists at a press conference held in Harare today.
“Economics is not a game of ZiGing but following monetary policies and principles of economics guided by the proverbial “invisible hand”, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe needs to hear clearly the advice and caution from the constructive opposition that there is need to enforce restrictive monetary policies guiding the printing of our dear ZiG.
The ZiG is our own currency and like our own children, we must guard its worth jealously and this is the assurance the people of Zimbabwe need to hear and believe”.
Muzorewa also congratulated President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his appointment as SADC Chairman “Mnangagwa is now SADC Chair so we can now easily approach the Chair with our economic challenges and l also congratulate Minister of Finance Hon Mthuli Ncube who was appointed to Chair the Finance Committee of SADC”.
