The 6th Southern Africa Youth Forum commenced yesterday in Harare under the theme, ” Empowering the Future: innovative Education For Sustainable Development in Southern Africa.
The SADC-PF and Youth Patron H.E Boemo Ndu Sekgoma represented by Southern Africa Youth Parliament Chief Mentor Sheuneni Kurasha delivered a keynote address which encouraged youths to embrace innovative and transformative education.
“To truly empower our youth we must embrace innovative education that is relevant, inclusive and transformative, education should not be confined to traditional classroom but should encompass a holistic approach that nurtures creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Building on the sterling efforts made last year , the Southern Africa Youth Forum continues to be a powerhouse of youth dynamism and pro activeness Bence this time around as we ponder on the theme ” Emporing the Future: innovative Education for Sustainable Development in Southern Africa we will be contemplating the consolidation of policy and legal frameworks to empower the youth through innovative education”.
Gracing the official opening the Mayor of Harare His Worship Jacob Mafume emphasised on building smart cities
He said the youth should start thinking of building smart cities and developing proposals for green cities and remarked green mobility as a key step towards building smart cities.
