Zimbabwe Bids Farewell To National Heroes, Dr Chaminuka & UK-Buried Gen Mutanda

Head of State and Government, President Dr Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today conveyed condolences to the late retired Brigadier general Mutanda family following the death of Brigadier General (Ret) Lameck Mutanda who was buried in the United Kingdom, simultaneously burying another General Dr Michael Chaminuka, today at the national heroes acre.
Both Brig Gen Mutanda and Dr Chaminuka were declared
National heroes.The late former army bosses, Brigadier General (Retired) Dr Michael Chaminuka who died in the capital on July 13 was buried this morning at the National Heroes Acre at an event President Mnangagwa presided over.
“His passing on is yet another huge blow as the nation has lost a loyal, versatile, and astute officer who sacrificed his life to wholeheartedly serve Zimbabwe,” said President Mnangagwa.
“His humble disposition, dedication, and commitment to duty, as well as unwavering consistency and persistence in service to our beloved motherland Zimbabwe, earned this award of national hero so that he rests among other great patriots.”

President Mnangagwa said Brig Gen Chaminuka sacrificed his life for the liberation of the country and deserved national hero status.
