The National Competitivess Commission (NCC) launched 2023 Zimbabwe Competitiveness report and Soya Bean value chain yesterday in Harare, the report we unveiling was giving a diagnosis of how the country can better its competitiveness position as a nation.
Gracing the launch Permanent Secretary for Industry and Commerce Thomas Wushe said, “I am also delighted to inform you that additionally, the National
Competitiveness Commission produced a Soya Bean Value Chain
Competitiveness Report. The Soya Bean Value Chain is one of the ten
(10) value chains prioritized for implementation during the National
Development Strategy (NDS) 1 period to promote industrialization and
the domestication of local value chains.
You will agree with me that industrialization is key to unlocking
sustainable economic growth and development. The Zimbabwe National
Industrial Development Policy (2019–2023) and NDS1 have laid a solid
foundation for the structural transformation of our economy through the
development and domestication of key industrial sectors including;
value addition, and beneficiation in agriculture, manufacturing, mining,
and tourism.
He emphasized that, “As we enter the final phase of the implementation of the NDS1, it is critical to acknowledge that the successful execution of our Strategy hinges on creating a conducive and competitive business environmentand developing robust value chains”.
