As Africa take its forefront in the global spotlight, Zimbabwe is confident to take a center stage in the global fashion industry with the launch of Supermodel brand which is aiming to uncover the nation’s hidden talents, celebrating beauty and other personality in all its forms.
Supermodel is more than just a competition, it is a movement that celebrates beauty, talent and personalities that can be captured at a world class standard regardless of race, background, size or age as a contribution to the Fashion Design Industry.
According to a statement released by the Supermodel brand, this launch will uncover the myriads of players that cultivate the Creative Economy of Zimbabwe.
“The Supermodel brand will uncover the myriad of players that cultivate the CREATIVE economy of Zimbabwe and as such will highlight and showcase the depth of talents that our country has to offer in various forms such as film, skill, training programs, fashion designers, make-up artists, photographers as well as promoting the Wear Zimbabwe campaign that promotes wearing local and supporting the Zimbabwe Fashion Design Industry”
The competition for a Supermodel begins on July 6, 2024, in Bulawayo with a nationwide search for the next SUPERMODEL. Over the next few months, six live challenges (Go Sees), Catwalk, Face challenges and Auditions will be held in six cities, culminating in the semifinals in Harare on October 05, 2024, and the grand finale on March 01,2025.
Through this initiative, Supermodel aims to empower talented youths with Business training and skills development equipping them to succeed in the Fashion Industry.
