Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim leader Senator Jameson Timba and 79 activists have been remanded in custody.
In the morning session, Sean Timba has been granted $100 bail or ZiG which is equivalent to that, he was arrested together with his father Jameson Timba and CCC activists who had gathered at a private home to celebrate the day of the International Child.
CCC lawyer Webster Jiti said, “The courts have granted the application made yesterday for the release of five accused persons who had been seriously injured. The doctors requested that they be urgently attended to and their X-rays be taken and they said they can further manage them. The fourth accused person has been admitted to the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and confirmed that she had a broken leg”.
“The court will continue tomorrow with the state’s intent to call another witness to testify. Sean will not allowed to interfere with other state witnesses and to report once every Friday to the Malborough Police station”, he added.
The investigation officer, Panganai Gwati, left the witness stand giving a reason that he had to attend to his pregnant wife who had been hospitalized. He was still under cross-examination.
