Mazowe Road Re- Opens

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development in collaboration with the Bitumen World has announced the re-opening of the Old Mazowe Road from Westgate roundabout to Gwebi River Crossing today after its upgrade.
The first 7km section of Chairman Mao Boulevard, formerly Old Mazowe Road from the Westgate roundabout to Gwebi River Crossing is opened after its closure on 24 March 2024 for reconstruction.
The road is now open for public use, the upgrade that has been done includes road widening, resurfacing, and remarking which aimed to improve the quality and safety of the road.
Some of the roads in Harare are being constructed for the 44th SADC summit to be hosted in Harare. The roads used during the SADC summit must be completed by 30 June 2024.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development statement, “The public is advised that the construction work is still going on other sections of Old Mazowe Road, which will remain closed until further notice”.
The public is encouraged to continue with patience, support, and cooperation to ensure that these works proceed safely.
