Eight Perishes ln Gandanzara Road Accident

The Anglican Diocese Of Manicaland has confirmed the road traffic accident that occurred on 16 June 2024 at around 6 pm.
The accident involved a bus that caught fire and was carrying 62 pilgrims from St. Bernard Mzeki shrine in Marondera. The accident takes place in the area called Gandanzara.
The officials from Diocesan have visited the accident scene and confirmed that 54 pilgrims survived, and 11 are currently hospitalized for treatment of the injuries at Rusape General Hospital. Three of the 11 have been transferred to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital.
The Diocese is working closely with the police and emergency services to find the causes of the accident and to provide support to the affected families.
In a statement, the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland said, “We call all members of the Anglican community and the whole public to join in prayers and to provide support to the affected families”.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has also confirmed the accident in which a bus carrying pilgrims from Bernard Mzeki caught fire near Gandanzara, Rusape.
