Three National University of Science and Technology students scooped first prize in the Oxford Africa Conference Innovation Seed Fund after inventing a Smart Irrigation System for sustainable agriculture.
Tanaka Guzha, Ebenezer Chisare and Tatenda Murwira’ s ground breaking innovation improved on existing irrigation methods by using sensors and algorithms to detect specific water needs for each crop thereby optimizing water usage for greater yields.
Econet Zimbabwe is thrilled to announce that the winners of the Oxford Africa Conference 2024 Innovation Seed Fund Competition in the Student Led Research category have received their well-deserved certificate and plaque!

Econet Zimbabwe graciously accepted the award on their behalf and ensured it was presented to them by their Vice Chancellor. Adding to the excitement, the team will receive £5,000 in funding to advance their groundbreaking research aimed at optimizing water usage in agriculture through advanced technology solutions.
