Majome Appointed Human Rights Chair

President Emmerson Mnangagwq  has with immediate effect appointed Fungayi Jessie Majome as the chairperson of the Human Rights Commission.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe Section 242 Subsection 1 (a) says a chairperson is appointed by the President after consultation with the Judicial Services Commission and the committee on standing rules and orders.
She was the former deputy minister in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender, and Community Development as deputy Minister of Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs among other policy-level positions, has wide experience in public administration.
Michael Reza has been appointed chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission with immediate effect.
In terms of Section 254 of the Constitution subsection 1 (a) says a chairperson is appointed by the President after consultation with the Committee on standing rules and orders.
Reza has experience in criminal investigations and prosecution and has handled corruption cases. Over a decade, he has prosecuted serious crimes in the country’s courts.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa and a Master of Laws from the Midlands State University and has also undergone training in the handling of money laundering and asset forfeiture in Botswana, South Africa, and Malawi under the sponsorship of the United Nations Organ on Drugs and Crime.
