Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) Chief Elections Officer (CEO) Utoile Silaigwana has notified in terms of , Section 52A (2) of the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13] that for purposes of the by-elections to be held on the 9th of March, 2024, the Local Authority By-Elections and Printing and Distribution of Ballot Papers will be done timeously.
Silaigwana exclusively revealed to TechMag TV that, the local Authority ballot papers total voters are 18 144.
The Chief Elections Officer also revealed the following;
(a) Printing and Minting company of Zimbabwe Pvt Limited located at number 1 George Drive, Msasa, Harare, was given the mandate to print ballot papers to be used for the Local Authority by-elections.
(b) A total of nineteen thousand three hundred and fifty (19 350) Local Authority ballot papers have been printed for the conduct of the by-elections.
(c) The number of ballot papers allocated for distribution to each polling station are as specified in the eighth column of Schedule 1.
(d) A contingency of 6,23 % has been added to the ballots.The ballot papers were printed in books of fifty each so the number of books to be allocated to each polling station is as specified in the ninth column.
