The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) held a press conference yesterday on Jacob Mafume’s mischievous pronouncement about the leadership in CCC.
CCC Spokesperson Promise Mkwanazi said, “Pronouncements are null and void and do not represent the collective wisdom and resolution of the Citizens National Assembly”.
Jacob Mafume is not authorized to speak on behalf of the party due to his connection with Sengezo Tshabangu and the unlawful recalls have now been confirmed. His link with CCC and the leadership of the MDC Alliance is not only mischievous but the confirmation that he has ceased to be a member of CCC.
On Saturday, Mafume announced that Welshman Ncube, Tendai Biti, and Karenyi Kore would take turns leading the party until a congress elects a new leader.
On the resignation of Advocate Nelson Chamisa Mkwanazi said, “The resignation has breathed life to and sustained the fight for democratic transition in our country. Senator Jameson Timba is in charge of the internal process of the party until the next step is revealed”.
The party deployed in Parliament is called to cooperate and work with stated leadership in executing the party’s legislation and agenda and advancing the interest of the citizens.
The party also notes that numerous evictions have been carried out by ZANU PF in different parts of the country.
The statement said they are concerned with human rights and livelihoods of citizens affected by what appeared to be consequences of an unclosed chapter of a fractured land reform program. The party had appointed a commission led by Agency Gumbo to investigate and respond to the issue.
