ZIFA Referees’ Committee Gears Up For New Soccer Season

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA)’s Referees Committee has called upon aspiring candidates to take refereeing as a profession to come forward as they gear up for the new soccer season.
The soccer season will cater for different football leagues that are affiliated with the country football governing body, Zifa.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association Referees’ Committee advises all stakeholders that it has started theory classes for aspiring referees every Saturday at Girls High School in Harare.
“This is the preparation for an examination on 1 March 2024. The recruitment is open for those aged 12 and 22. Lessons are conducted for free, while the examination fee is $5,” read the statement from the Referees’ Committee chairperson Norman Matemera.
The theory lessons help facilitate clear communication, learning outcomes improve and students will also build confidence and self-esteem before writing the examinations.
