Minister Of Health’s Wife appointed PSC Head

Wife to the Minister of Health and Child Care, Douglas Mombeshora, Dr Millicent Sibongile Mombeshora has been appointed Public Service Commission head and is expected to assume duty on 2nd of February 2024.

President Emerson Munangagwa approved the appointment at State House this morning.
Dr Mombeshora holds an undergraduate and post graduate degrees in Economics, Finance, strategic management, marketing and Business Management from institutions in South Africa, United States of America and the United Kingdom. Her extensive background spans various sectors in Zimbabwe, including information, banking, bank supervision, agriculture, and public administration and management.

Her immerse knowledge and diverse experience has also seen her chair boards and served as board member in various state owned enterprises and parastatals among the Zimbabwe Media Commission and the Prisons and correctional Services.

Her appointment has raised eyebrows on social platforms with the public criticizing the balance of power and transparency in the selection process as she is connected to key government officials.
