Private owned Namibian airline FlyNamibia announced plans prior to launch the Windhoek -Victoria Falls service on Tuesday, the service is set to commence on April 4 2024.
The Managing Director of FlyNamibia Andre Compion referred the new route as catalyst to enhance regional connectivity.
“This new route is a key element in Fly Namibia’s network expansion strategy, which aims to enhance regional connectivity and promote tourism within Namibia and position Windhoek as an alternative gate away to the region.
FlyNamibia will stimulate much needed tourism while also fostering trade, comerce snd broader economic activity between Namibia and Zimbabwe”.
Connecting Windhoek and Victoria Falls will create new travel opportunities for tourists and also for business travellers and it is expecting positive impacts on the tourism sector, benefiting tour operators, hospitality and accommodation businesses as safari and adventure travel operators.
Meanwhile, the Fastjet suspended its flights from Victoria Falls to Botswana’s tourism capital, Maun due low bookings.
