The association that is concerned with cross border trading Zimbabwe Cross Border Traders Association (ZCBTA) has commended authorities for employing holistic measures to curb prices instability.
Fiscal authorities also complimented the efforts by scrapping duty payment requirements on all basic commodities with inflated prices locally resulting in price stability. ZCBTA Secretary General Augustine Tawanda applauded authorities for taking bold steps to instill price stability.
He said,” We urge the government to continue on this track until our manufacturers and distributors abandon elements of profiteering.lt is also through decent markups that Zimbabwean products will end up with a pricing structure which resonates with pricing models in the region and other competitive markets”.
These remarks came after monetary authorities mantained a tight Monetary Policy environment which is ring fenced by instruments such as Open Market Operations Bills has gone a long way to excess ZWL liquidity.
