The late former Warriors shot-stopper George “Jojola” Chigova who died in South Africa last week will be buried in his home town of Chivhu on Saturday, this publication has established.
Chigova, who was turning out for South Africa’s Super Sport United during his time of death succumbed to suspected heart complications at the age of 32.
Family spokesperson Godfrey Bakasa confirmed that Chigiva’s body will arrive in the country today and burial has been set for Saturday in Chivhu.
“A confirmed flight has been booked, for a 10:30 am departure for Wedsneday and burial has been set for Saturday in Chivhu,” he said.
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) also joined other important football stakeholders in mourning the giant goalie.
“His contribution to the national team and Zimbabwean football will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Chigova’s family, friends, and the whole football fraternity during this difficult time,” said ZIFA in a statement.
