State-owned entity ZimPost has bemoaned legacy challenges that have affected the company’s operations.

In his keynote address during the ZimPost Strategic Planning Workshop in Darwendale, Acting Post Master Maxwell Chitendeni conceded that the company was experiencing unbearable staff turnover which is adversely affecting their operations.

“Due to some legacy issues, which you are already aware of Honourable Minister, ZimPost is experiencing high staff turnover across all levels. This challenge is mainly due to the current conditions of service for staff that are in the lower quartile of the sector,” he said.

The ZimPost boss added that the company, has, however, come up with strategies to try and address high staff turnover challenges.

”We have been fortunate to have a loyal and dedicated workforce that is still committed to the postal business. To ensure that we retain such staff and attract new talent, ZimPost is reviewing its conditions of service periodically, within its abilities,” he added

The company is currently conducting a strategic plan workshop at the Zimbabwe Institute Of Public Administration and Management (Zipam) in Darwendale.

The workshop is aimed at drafting the entity’s strategic plan to shape the vision and mission of ZimPost along with its strategic priorities and action points.
