Pepsia farm owner and commercial farmer Zivai Samudzimu officially launched Shumba Group yesterday which is aimed at returning the country to its rightful place of being the self-sufficient and breadbasket of Sub Saharan Africa.
Samudzimu contacted a field tour around the farm unveiling how she mangagef to curb the Fall Army worm which is the biggest threat to crops in the field.
She said, “We have invested in resources, including people and funding into developing a solution to this problem and we engaged Ecoterex to improve the conditions of the crop eliminating the worm and ensuring that crops reach maturity.”
Shumba Group has been assisting both small scale farmers and large scale commercial farmers to increase yields and productivity.
It also works closely with relevant government departments such as Environmental Management Agency and National Social Security Authority.
