Zimbabwe, China enterprises held the second edition of the job fair over two days in the capital, Harare, Showground, to avail employment opportunities to Zimbabweans in various Chinese companies.
The relationship between the two countries has on numerous occasions availed employment opportunities for several Zimbabweans who get employed with jobs ranging from general hand to high-level positions.
Hundreds of people thronged the Showground Hall and registered for employment opportunities in mining, agriculture, engineering and construction companies.
“We have 50 Chinese companies with various job opportunities. This also creates links, it shows that Chinese investments in the country are creating a win-win situation as locals get jobs,” said Zimbabwe China Exchange Centre general manager, Mr Donald Rushambwa.
The job fair, which is in its second year running, is an annual programme established by the Zimbabwe China Exchange Centre and the Chinese Chamber of Enterprises in Zimbabwe.
“The platform shaped how the job seekers needed to present themselves to get employment, etiquette, but at the same time this shows how the Zimbabwe-China ties have been growing in various sectors,” facilitator, Nabeela Jorgee said.
The Second Republic has been credited for creating an enabling environment of growth.
“Already, we have over 4000 workers and this job fair will give us more qualified employees, we thank the government of Zimbabwe for the opportunity to meet the more competent people,” said the Administration Manager of Dinson Iron and Steel Group, Mr Dean Chen.
