Building plans reduced, City of Harare approved

The City of Harare has reduced the USD component on building plan approvals and inspection fees to promote infrastructural development in the city.

The new schedule of fees for the main house in low-density areas are now set at US$150 from US$343 and US$200 from US$505 for a single-storey, while commercial single-storey has been reduced to US$250 from US$773.

In a statement released on Monday, Town Clerk Hosiah Chisango said; “City of Harare would like to advise its residents that building plan approval fees and related charges have been reduced to levels specified in November 2022: Schedule 25A of Fees and Charges [Building Inspectorate].

The local authority, in June 2022 had introduced a United States dollar-denominated fees in much to the charging of residents. The pricing has been a major effect for a long time to most residents who wanted to develop their stands.
The move was meant to enhance development.
