The renovations of the Mupedzanhamo flea market in Mbare are almost done and the Harare city council confirmed that the reopening of the market is close.
This was confirmed in a statement seen by this publication which stated that, “We are excited to let you know that the reopening of Mupedzanhamo market is now imminent.
“It should be noted that the Mupedzanhamo market belongs to the city of Harare and political parties have no legal ownership, in line with the small-medium entrepreneurs’ policy, all vendors traders should be registered to all district offices in Harare,” read the statement.
Francisca Mafuta one of the vendors said, ” l am very happy that Mupedzanhamo is about to reopen so that l can go back to my day-to-day activity that l am used to and l would want to appreciate the measures being taken by the council of equal representation”.
Mupedzanhamo has been closed for three years for renovations and revamping process which is almost done.
