Two Minors Suffocate To Death In Shamva

Two children aged three and four lost their lives after being trapped in a car for hours on Sunday in Shamva.

The victims Kuziva Koffi and Kudakwashe Magomba were playing in a vehicle at their grandmother’s home when the car door locked them inside.

According to the police, their parents left them unattended from 10:30 am to 3;30 pm.

Mashonaland Central Police Spokesperson Milton Mudembe confirmed the tragic accident and said the bodies were taken to Shamva Hospital for post-mortem.

Mudembe said, “l can confirm a sudden death case in Shamva where two minors died due to negligence by their parents who left them playing near a car and they locked themselves in a Nissan Liberty registration number ACJ 0274 and suffocated.”

Police have warned parents to keep a close eye on their children to avoid unnecessary loss of life because it is a loss due to negligence.

The news of the deaths sent shockwaves to the community, with many expressing their disbelief and sorrow.
