EU Ambassador Donates ICT Equipment To the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ambassador of the EU to Zimbabwe Jobst von Kirchmann last week donated ICT equipment worthy USD$400 000 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade under the Zimbabwe Economic Partnership Agreement (ZEPA).

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade James Manzou received the equipment on behalf of all ZEPA beneficiaries.

On social media platform Twitter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe posted that the ICT equipment will boost and support trade in Zimbabwe.

EU Delegation to Zimbabwe said, “Today Amb.@vonKichmannEU handed over $400 000 worth #ICT equipment under the Zimbabwe Economic Partnership Agreement # ZEPA to support Zim Trade @MoFA ZW accepted on behalf of all ZEPA beneficiaries working to enhance Zimbabwe’s integration into regional & international trade.”

Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said, “The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade received a range of ICT equipment from the @euinzim Ambassador H.E Jobst von Kirchmann, under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Economic Partnership Agreement (ZEPA).

They added that, “In his address, Ambassador Manzou welcomed the gesture from the EU and further indicated that the range of ICT equipment which comprises Visual Conferencing Equipment, printers, desktops and GPS tablets will enhance the government’s drive towards digitalization.”

The equipment will also benefit the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Women Affairs, Zimra, and other Government Departments.
