Zanu PF Primary Elections Postponed

The ruling party Zanu PF has postponed primary elections which scheduled for Saturday  the 18th of March 2023.

Zanu PF Political Commissar Mike Bimha announced the developments, he highlighted that the party will announce the dates after a Politburo meeting on Monday.

Bimha said the party’s primary elections will no longer be held tomorrow due to overwhelming response by the candidates competing to represent the party, Politburo will meet on Monday to evaluate the CVs and recommendations and after the meeting they will announce a date.

He further said, “We had anticipated that by Saturday we would have elections but as I said because of the overwhelming response it was not possible to get to that target because we need to make sure that we go through these processes the vetting processes, the meeting of the National Election Directorate which has to do a thorough job and also to prepare all the submissions to be ready.”
