Opposition Laments Political persecution

The leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change, Advocate Nelson Chamisa has lamented the continuous persecution of the opposition and it’s activists by the ZANU PF regime.

The CCC leader made the remarks while denouncing the persecution of Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala who continues to be denied bail and said that the denial of bail was punishment for refusing to back down from challenging the government malfeasance.

“Bail denied again.Injustice and oppression are tools of the weak and losing.Hon Job Sikhala is innocent,a political prisoner being victimized for politics.In a #ANewGreatZimbabwe no citizen shall be persecuted for being politically different bail is a constitutional right #FreeWiwa,”he said

Job Sikhala was arrested and charged with inciting violence following the skirmishes that rocked Nyatsime.

The violence had been triggered by the death of opposition activists who was brutally murdered before her decomposing was discovered in a disused well in Nyatsime.

The skirmishes led to the arrests of 14 CCC activists from Nyatsime along with Honorable Godfrey Sithole and Sikhala remains in custody while the others are out on bail.

The continued denial of bail to Sikhala has generated debated and questions of a free and fair elections next year have started popping up at the plebiscite draws closer
