Twitter Reviews Plans To Permanently Suspend “Parody” Accounts

Twitter’s New owner Elon Musk has reviewed his plans to permanently suspend parody accounts.

Musk officially announced the new development on his Twitter page.

“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended

“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This will be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue.

“Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark,” said Musk.

The BBC reported that a number of accounts that had changed their names to the new Twitter owner have been suspended or placed behind a warning sign, including the accounts of US comedian Kathy Griffin and Former NFL player Chris Kluwe and other accounts are yet to be suspended including the one parodying former US president Donald Trump by comedian Tim Heidecker.

Since Musk takeover Twitter he has been introducing new polices, Musk first move was to fire the top executive making himself the sole director.

Musk fired the CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, General Counsel Sean Edgett and Head of Legal Policy, Trust and Safety Vijaya Gadde.

Recently Musk also launched a subscription service of $8 a month that includes a blue check , now given only to verified accounts.
