Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala’s fifth bid for his freedom hit a brick wall after the courts refused to grant him bail together with Godfrey Sithole.
The opposition legislators had filed an application for bail, citing the change in circumstances as the reason for their application…
However the application was denied by Harare Magistrate Taurai Manuwere who argued that the circumstances had not changed hence the duo did not deserve to be out on bail.
The opposition figures have been behind bars without trial for over 3 months in what has been described as political persecution.
They were arrested in June following the violence that erupted in the Nyatsime area after the brutal murder of party activist Moreblessing Ali whose body was later found in a disused well.
The courts have continued to deny the legislators bail, arguing that they were likely to fan violence if released on bail.
