Namibia’s Chevron’s 2022 Tour Starts Tomorrow

The Namibia cricket team will feature in a 5th T20i series, final match against Zimbabwe’s Senior National team.The Southern neighbors will do battle with the Chevron’s at Queens Sports Club Bulawayo on the 24th of May 2022.

The hosts are expected to win after a loss to Namibia, in their last Sunday encounter.

In their last 4th T20i match, Zimbabwe lost to Namibia leveling the series 2-2, after Namibia won the toss, electing to field first.

The two teams have been neck and neck in the league so far and the Chevron’s dominated in the 22-yard pitch in the first T20i.

Zimbabwe started well before Innocent Kaia fell to Bernard Scholtz, while Craig Ervine and Wesley Madhevere kept finding important runs in the powerplay overs after his dismissal.

Ervine was dismissed at 22 and Madhevere soon followed suit as he ran himself out after scoring 50 off 32 balls. After his dismissal, the middle batting order struggled.

A late over surge by Mutubami and Luke Jongwe ensured that Zimbabwe crosses the 150 run mark and ended up at a total of 157 for 8 in 20 overs.

Jongwe picked up 2 wickets for 35 runs.

Namibia’s Scholtz picked up 3 wickets for 25 runs, during the chase, as Craig Williams was dismissed early on in the innings. To keep Namibia in the game Michael van Lingen who was playing his first game managed to smash 50 off 48 balls.

However, Gerhard Erasmus dominated play smashing 59 off 43 balls and stayed put throughout, the opposition failing to bowl him out as he took to greater heights his team home on the last ball of the match with 6 wickets in hand.
