CCC MP’s Forced Their Way In Parly After The Yellow Tie Ban

Citizen’s Coalition for Change Members of Parliament today were denied entry at Parliament building after they all came wearing yellow despite the ban of wearing yellow neckties by the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda which the Speaker announced yesterday.

However, the CCC MP’s forced their way inside despite the fact that they had been obstructed to entry because they were going against the ruling made by the speaker.

CCC MP’s were banned from wearing the color yellow after Zanu PF MP for Buhera South Joseph Chinotimba protested that CCC MP’s were wearing party regalia to the August House.

“Mr. Speaker, before you swear in the Members, some of us here are wearing party symbols like this gentleman here.  The CCC as you know have their yellow theme with their symbol, but now the gentleman is wearing a CCC symbol,” said Chinotimba.

Member of Parliament for Chitungwiza Jacob Sikhala asked referring to two other MP’s who were putting on yellow but belong to Zanu PF, if they were members of the CCC party because of their yellow outfits.

“Are you telling us that woman is wearing a CCC symbol?  Mr. Speaker, we need to be serious,” said Sikhala.

Sikhala added, “It is a tie.  Even Hon. Paradza is from CCC now.”

However Mudenda then gave his final ruling that MP’s must abide by the rule of Parliament, he said, “Order!  Honorable Molokela, who told you to be on your feet?  Honorable Chinotimba, we note that.  Is there anything written CCC on the tie?.”

“No, so it is difficult to decipher.  There are some Members also with yellow shirts but they do not belong to CCC, but as much as possible, any visible party regalia will not be allowed into the House,” said Mudenda
