Bindura motorists have expressed worry over the persisting fuel shortages in the area after the filling stations went dry last week.
The fuel shortages started last week when there were scheduled maintenance which were being done at Beira from 21 November to 2 December.
One of the motorists James Ali told TechMag TV that he had been waking up early on the fuel queue for two days but to no avail.
“It’s been two days now since we started having fuel challenges but we are not sure if it will be available for the festive holidays,” he said.
Takunda Makoni said he is now worried since his life depends on carrying goods from one point to another.
“I drive a lorry which I use to carry different goods usually from town to different locations, so right now I don’t have any income because I am now wasting time on the queue.
I carry various goods like building materials, food stuffs among others, and I hope they (government) will make fuel available again because we are stuck,” he said.
A long queue could be seen stretching for about a kilometer in Bindura CBD as only one filling station had fuel.
Unlike Bindura, Harare now proves to be having the commodity after the long queues are seen no more.
However, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) announced that the country has enough fuel supplies which meet the current demand and the fast approaching festive season.
