The police have arrested six suspects over the murder of Eric Mahlangu in Filabusi on Friday.

In a statement issued by the police,Farai Mpunzi (40),Ndodana Sibanda, (30)Mqondisi Sibanda (30),Aneli Sibanda (25),Obvious Nyoni (26) and Luckmore Ncube are being charged with the murder of the deceased.

The murder occurred at Bunyip Mine,Filabusi on Friday .Allegations are that the suspects attacked the deceased over allegations of trespassing.

“The were armed with machetes and spears and one of the suspects is said to have stabbed the victim on the right thigh,with a spear.

The victim tried to escape but was collapsed and died a few metres from the scene of the crime,”the ZRP said in a statement.

The suspects are expected in court on charges relating to murder and unlawful possession of prohibited weapons.
